Dr. Paterna attended Loyola University in Baltimore, MD. and earned his undergraduate degree in business administration in 1995. At age 24 he nearly lost his life while taking prescribed medication for pain and anxiety. Thankfully an experience with a chiropractor lead him to attended the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic. Dr. Paterna graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2004.

He’s additionally completed postgraduate courses in pediatric chiropractic and neurology. Dr. Paterna has also been the team chiropractor for two professional baseball organizations and enjoys volunteering his time by mentoring young chiropractors and chiropractic students. His love for Chiropractic and his passion to help people lead him to be elected TWICE by his peers as President of The CT Chiropractic Council.

In 2021 Dr. Paterna was given the Honorable BJ Palmer Service Award, an award only given 2 other times since 1993, as the chiropractor who has gone above and beyond in service to his patients and the profession.
